Designed by Ferdinand Bac (1859-1952), grandson of King Jerome of Westphalia. A stroll through the garden is a journey around the ancient Mediterranean, where Greek mythology comes to life. Listed as a Historic Monument.
Overlooking the bay of Garavan, the Domaine des Colombières is the finest achievement of Ferdinand Bac, an artist, writer and landscape gardener of the Belle Époque. Filled with symbolism, the garden invites you to take an initiatory journey around the Mediterranean, as much for its mythological statues as for its vegetation: olive trees several hundred years old, pines, cypresses and a marvellous thousand-year-old carob tree. The staged landscape is a hymn to the Mediterranean. The whole area is listed as a Historic Monument.
