Antigone

After Jocasta's suicide and Oedipus's exile, Antigone's two brothers, Eteocles and Polynices, killed each other for the throne of Thebes. Creon, Jocasta's brother, is the new king and has decided to only offer a burial to Eteocles and not to Polynices, who is described as a rogue and a traitor.
He decrees that anyone who dares to bury the renegade's body will be punished by death. No one dares to defy the ban and Polynices' corpse is abandoned to the heat and to scavengers. Only Antigone...
