Castagniers, a lovely recent perched village in the hills amid generous Mediterranean vegetation, offers a splendid open view on the Lower Var Valley (Plaine du Var).
Founded ca. 1870, the village is dominated by Mont-Cima, towering 879m above sea level, and offering a grandiose view.

Sights: oil mill (still active); Saint-Michel parish church (19th c); Notre-Dame-de-la-Paix Abbey, a convent of Cistercian nuns and its lovely garden (1928): chocolate factory; Croix du Cuore; Vallon Obscur du Donaréo, a protected listed Natura 2000 site.
