Come and experience life in the wild, in the middle of the woods, in a unique ecolieu. Your accommodation: a tent perched between the trees for 2 people, under a platform in the canopy that serves as your living room. An open-air gas kitchen with desert fridge. A shower on the edge of the forest, with the sun as your companion, between plum and olive trees. Dry toilets hidden in a hut. An idyllic setting at 500m altitude, not far from the Parc du Mercantour. The perched tent is designed for two people on a very good mattress, so you can be comfortable and store your belongings comfortably.
The road to the campsite is a little steep on the side of the main road, but then becomes gentler. All the cars go uphill, except those with very low ceilings, like the sports cars. Once you're in the parking lot, you'll need to be flexible, so as to be able to handle and move the cars if necessary, should there be other vehicles on site.
Meals: you can be completely self-sufficient when it comes to meals, as you have a dining area and a kitchen with all the necessary crockery, three gas rings and two desert fridges.
We also offer morning, noon and evening meals, table d'hôte and by prior reservation. Products from the garden, from local, untreated producers, or from the village organic grocery store.
There are three clearly defined zones within the ecolieu, to ensure the well-being and harmony of visitors and residents alike. In your space, there are tents and another hut for rent. Common spaces to be shared in a spirit of goodwill.
Situation: In the mountains (we're at an altitude of 500m), evenings are often cool and damp. It's common to lose 10 to 15 degrees compared with the daytime. Plan your clothing accordingly.
Rest areas:You'll have two lounges for your use, one perched in the trees above your tent, the other at the foot of your tent. There are also hammocks scattered around your little forest.
Electricity: solar power for recharging laptops, computers and other battery-powered devices. You won't be able to connect any other permanently-operating equipment to this network, as the power supply won't allow it.
Water: drinking water is available in the kitchen for cooking and personal hygiene. All other tap water comes from rain or springs, but is not potabilized.
Waste: in the kitchen, there's a compost bin under the kitchen sink for your organic waste.
Water treatment: water from the sink goes directly to feed the squash and trees. Water from the shower joins that from the gîte's upstream sinks and showers, and is treated by a phytodepuration system.
Dry toilets: these are located in the grey mini-cabin at the bottom of the garden. They work as follows: you relieve yourself as usual, then put the paper with it and cover it with sawdust, which is provided.
Shower: the shower provides hot and cold water. In midsummer, it's often lukewarm, not cold.
