Through more than thirty works from the Ferrero Donation Collection and photographs, this exhibition offers an overview of the work of Claude Gilli, the most "pop" of the artists of the Nice School.
The "Winks to the School of Nice" are part of a series specially commissioned by Jean Ferrero from Claude Gilli. They echo another series presented last year: "The Cubic Dimensions of the School of Nice" by Jean Mas.
These works reflect the principle of "Ex-votos," where Claude Gilli, seeking to rid himself of his pencils and brushes, created paintings with depth and relief.
We will also find the subjects that made him famous, such as paint drips and snails used as subjects and, above all, tools, as well as another, more confidential series from the early 1970s inspired by African fetishes.
