A virtual tour/conference to explore the evolution of comics through the ages.
Micro-Folie's guided tour invites you to discover comics from a historical and artistic perspective. The workshop explores how pictorial storytelling has existed for centuries, long before the emergence of comics as we know them today.
Participants will be able to observe a variety of visual media from the history of art: cave paintings, Greek pottery, Mexican and Roman sculptures, tapestries and illuminations from the Middle Ages, as well as illustrated posters and comic strips from the 19th century.
This approach allows us to better understand how the image, associated with the story, gradually evolved to give birth to the contemporary comic strip.
