Soprano Laure BAERT and pianist Laure FAVRE-KAHN present a "Miroir" recital of French music composed in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
The same name, or a similar title, and music from the same era, the Belle Epoque!
Raised in a music-loving family, Laure BAERT began her musical journey by learning to play the piano at the age of 5. Alongside her university studies in literature and musicology, she pursued her musical training at the Lille and Nancy Conservatoires, where she won first prizes in piano, singing, solfeggio and chamber music, as well as the unanimous Lyric Improvement Prize. In 2003, she won the "Voix d'Or Opéra" at the Concours National des Voix d'Or, presided over by Laurence Dale, and was a semi-finalist in the prestigious Queen Elisabeth International Competition in 2004. Since 2001, Laure has led her operatic career on numerous stages. A devotee of sacred music, she regularly performs Bach, Couperin, Caldara, Pergolesi, Handel, Haydn, Mozart, Poulenc and Vivaldi. Alongside her stage activities, Laure has been Artistic Director of the Sablé Festival since 2021.
After studying at the Conservatoire d'Avignon, Laure FAVRE-KAHN was unanimously awarded first prize in piano at the CNSM de Paris at the age of 17, in Bruno Rigutto's class. Winner of the Adami classical revelations award in 1999, she recorded her first album devoted to Schumann for the Arion label at the age of 20. Since then, she has performed regularly in France and abroad, in recital and chamber music. Laure FAVRE-KAHN has made numerous recordings, and in 2013 created her own show at the Festival d'Avignon, "Chopin Confidences", in which she pays tribute to the composer alone on stage, with the voice of Charles Berling. September 2024 saw the release of her 13th solo album, "Dédicaces", an original project in which 14 personalities each chose a work. Since 2004, she has been patron of the Caméléon association, which protects abused children in France and the Philippines.
