Broadcast of the Arte documentary ‘The Odyssey of Minerals’.
From the conquest of copper, iron and gold to rare earths, this poetic and scientific odyssey, filmed entirely in 3D, weaves a narrative that takes root in Antiquity and unfolds into our era. At the heart of technical and industrial revolutions, minerals have a crucial influence on the functioning of our societies. But their exploitation could disrupt the world of tomorrow.
The documentary will be followed by a conference and debate, moderated by Didier Nectoux, on the challenges of mineral resources.
Didier Nectoux, former director of the Mineralogy Museum at the École des Mines de Paris and doctor of engineering geology, is committed to introducing the general public to the wonders of mineralogy. A passionate populariser, he regularly produces videos broadcast on social networks (YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn) and has contributed to numerous articles and books aimed at the general public.
Conference organised by Géo Sites Alpes Azur.
