A hero in spite of himself, Colin is the main character in the story.
His personal journey makes him a dented individual in search of an identity who is forced to take up theatre. Despite his reluctance, and under the guidance of his teacher, he finds a way out. The character of Cyrano is a revelation to him, as Colin discovers similarities with him. Their disabilities (Cyrano's nose, Colin's stammer) are the common basis of their difficulties: the fear of being looked at by others, the impossibility of saying they love the woman they love, loneliness... Getting into Cyrano's shoes will enable Colin to accept himself and free himself.
