You are in Menton and have only a short time to discover the city, let yourself be guided by this walk of less than an hour. From the Biovès Gardens to the Carnolès Palace, this 100% flat route does not forget children thanks to the Madonna Park (Koaland)
- Let's begin our visit with the Palais de l'Europe, a building designed by architect Hans G. Tersling. Tersling in the early 20th century.
: Let's enter the Biovès gardens via the east entrance and go down opposite the Casino, admiring the different species of palm trees in the garden (Livistona australis, Livistona Chinensis,...). Lanceray falconers.
At the bottom of the gardens, turning right onto Avenue Carnot, take a look at the architecture of St John's Anglican Church, marked by the ravages of time.
After about 100m, follow the signs to enter the Square des Etats-Unis. This is Menton's most densely wooded square, home to a number of plants of remarkable size and origin. Crossing the square, we come out onto Avenue Edouard VII: on the right, the Winter Palace and Riviera Palace overlook the town, while the Sacré Coeur church is discreetly revealed to us. We're in the Condamine district, designed by Tersling on the Haussmann model. To the left, the seafront beckons. Let's accept the invitation.
As we reach the Promenade du Soleil, benches invite us to enjoy the panorama. From the tip of Cap Martin in the west to the Italian mainland in the east, let's breathe in the sea air as we contemplate the sun's golden reflections on the surface of the water. Let's get back on the road to the west of the city.
We arrive at Square Elysée Reclus. This shady square is ideal for relaxation, with a water feature surrounding a soothing kiosk.
Let's head inland on Avenue de la Madone. Lined with plane trees, Avenue de la Madone leads to the Parc de la Madone, a popular playground for children.
Enter the park. As we turn right up the central path, we come across a pair of fallow deer and a few rabbits resting under some old oak trees. Before setting off again, the children will certainly want to try one of the activities on offer in the park.
