Trained in Strasbourg and based in Montpellier, Joël Faivre-Chalon has never considered jewelry as a simple ornament: his jewels are the fruit of patient research into both form (rather refined) and materials. Joël Faivre-Chalon was equally at home with brass, silver and innovative materials such as titanium, formica® and carbon fiber. Thanks to a collection of archives, photographs, drawings, sketches and a corpus of works and prototypes generously entrusted to the Musée du Bijou Contemporain by the artist's wife, the exhibition retraces Joël Faivre-Chalon's artistic career and sheds light on his creative process.
