Exhibition "Action! - Sport in cinema

Curated by specialists Gérard Camy and Julien Camy, Action! celebrates the union of sport and the seventh art, tracing the history of an ongoing dialogue between these two popular passions. Born at the end of the 19th century, they grew up together, capturing our imaginations, emotions and aspirations. Focusing on six themes, the exhibition reveals how cinema has seized on the heroic tales, intense dramas and universal values of sport to create works that touch, inspire and question us.

From the first motion capture films that revolutionized our understanding of the human body to contemporary blockbusters that magnify sporting feats, Action! offers a captivating immersion in the world of cinema through the prism of sport. It highlights how cinema has shaped our perception of sport, creating icons and popularizing disciplines, and how sport has enriched cinema, offering compelling stories, inspiring characters and spectacular action scenes.
