Fishing in the Pays de Fayence includes some very fine courses, notably along the banks of the river La Siagne and its tributary the Siagnole, which are stocked with fario trout (1st category fish) on the border with the Alpes Maritimes, as well as many other small streams: the Camiole, the Camandre and the Chautard.
A little further south is the Lac de Saint-Cassien, renowned for its large population of carp, for which night fishing is prohibited, as well as numerous catfish and superb pike-perch and pike-perch, fed by an abundance of white fish.
There is also the Rioutard lake at St Paul en Forêt, and the Banegon lake at Fayence.
The Var Fishing Federation, in partnership with local AAPPMAs, is launching a brand new service to help anglers prepare their outings more effectively.
