To defend Nice in 1882, the fort was fitted with two Mougin-type armored turrets (Jeanne d'Arc and Bayard), each armed with two 155 mm cannons. It was completed in 1886, when the invention of the "torpedo shell" made it vulnerable to bombardment. In 1931, the fort was completed with a Maginot structure. Today, the fort is maintained by enthusiasts who will help you discover its history and that of artillery, including one of the few Mougin turrets still in operation in France.
