Le mystère des gravures de Fontanalba et des Merveilles includes over 40,000 Neolithic and Bronze Age petroglyphs on colored rock between 2000 and 2400m altitude. The 2 valleys make up the Mont Bégo archaeological site, with certain themes or motifs more represented or specific to one or the other.
Fontanalba is easier to reach than Les Merveilles (access time to the meeting point, less demanding access route and tour).
Part of the tour will take place off the main trails and GR paths, i.e. in the area closed to the public unless accompanied by an approved guide. The tour route may vary according to the guide, the weather, and the size and fitness of the group. As a result, the time spent and the number of engravings visited off-trail may also vary.
If you have a special request, we recommend that you hire a guide and define with him or her the precise program you want.
Visits in English or Italian on request, depending on the availability of the guides
