With Heka, inspired by the Egyptian god of magic, Sean Gandini returns to his first love and teams up with magicians Yann Frisch and Kalle Nio to push the boundaries of illusion.
THE INTENTION
When I was a child, I wanted to be a magician. What I loved was the training.
The first part of the show is inspired by Yann Frisch's world. What's funny about Yann is that his career path is the opposite of mine; he went from juggling and clowning to magic. We were inspired by one of his early tabletop acts, Baltass, with which he toured the world and won awards. The other parts come from the experimental ideas of the Finnish magician Kalle Nio. It's a kind of magic close to visual arts and performance art. Here again, what interests us is the gesture.
