The Matisse Museum and the Baltimore Museum of Art are co-organizing an exhibition dedicated to the Stations of the Cross created by Henri Matisse from 1948 to 1951 for the Rosary Chapel in Vence.
This exhibition, which will take place in two stages - in Nice and Baltimore - aims to explore the genesis of this unique mural work and to improve our understanding of it. While the existing literature on the Rosary Chapel is relatively substantial, few scientific studies focus on its Stations of the Cross.
