This is a beautiful cross-border hike in the wild Dréjé valley, with its abandoned hamlets and terraced fields. You'll overlook and cross the Audin torrent, where canyoning and swimming in idyllic pools are practised in summer...
Reach Libre from the RD 6204 via the winding RD 90, cross the hamlet and continue to the end of the road to park in the hamlet of Giastévé.
Start the itinerary at marker 424 on your right; the path skirts the hamlet from below, to climb towards the ridgeline, which you follow until you reach the cistern and marker 418. Then fork right to climb up the slope to Dréjé at the bottom of the valley, marker 446.
You begin the descent of the Audin valley on the left bank, as far as marker 411, where you find the valley path arriving from Fanghetto. Follow it down to the right, to the pretty bridge over the Audin. On the way up, don't miss the ruined hamlet of Cabo, below on your left: it's thought to be the remains of a Saracen settlement.
As you go up on your right, a narrow path takes you back to the hamlet of Giastévé, where you pass under the houses to get back to your car.
If you miss the junction, don't panic, just turn right when you reach the track, and right again to return to Giastévé.
Recommended hiking equipment: shoes, water, picnic, walking sticks, IGN map...
Please note that in the bottom of the valley, the network doesn't run in certain places, and doesn't necessarily allow you to keep the GPS track active.
