Our History: From the Imperial (1913) to the Hotel Pavillon Impérial (1950)
In the 19th century, vines and lemon trees spread out on the hillside from the Avenue de la Madone. It is on this avenue that will be built, in 1911, the Imperial Hotel whose opening will take place in December 1913. This luxurious hotel has 300 rooms, half of which are en suite. It is intended for the new cosmopolitan and luxurious clientele. The Imperial Hotel was requisitioned as a hospital in 1915, and at the end of the war it was taken over by the Ritz-Carlon Group. In 1928 the pavilion was built and converted into a garage on the ground floor and as housing for the family of the chief gardener on the 1st floor. In 1947, after only 30 years of operation, the Imperial Hotel will be transformed into apartments. After the closure of the hotel, the pavilion was enlarged and in 1950 became the Hotel Pavillon Imperial, currently rated 2** and equipped with 17 rooms, all with bathroom. In October 2017, the Hotel Pavillon Impérial changes direction and benefits from a great wave of renovation.
