From May 5 to September 26, 2025, the Hartung-Bergman Foundation presents the exhibition "Paysages intérieurs", featuring works by Anna-Eva Bergman, Hans Hartung, Vera Molnár, Terry Haass and Carl Nesjar.
Great travelers, Anna-Eva Bergman and Hans Hartung have seen countless landscapes in their lives that are commonly described as "beautiful": Balearic villages, Norwegian fjords, azure skies... Yet it is the subjectivation and abstraction of the surrounding universe, from the modesty of a pebble to the vastness of astral races, that characterizes their respective production: a transformation of the world through the filter of purity, memory, gestuality, reframing or geometrization. Enriched by comparisons with Terry Haass, Vera Molnár and photographer Carl Nesjar, this exhibition oscillates between the telluric and the cosmic, and plunges into the heart of nature's hidden forces, beyond its spectacular forms.
In addition to featuring works by Hans Hartung and Anna-Eva Bergman, the exhibition is based on Terry Haass's donation to the Foundation, and benefits from the exceptional loan of several pieces by Vera Molnár. The exhibition is also part of the "Landscape and Abstraction" research program scheduled for 2024-2025.
