Along with the Bastion, it is Cocteau's other priceless gift Painted between 1957 and 1958, it magnificently represents the lovers of Menton, whose arabesques rub shoulders with the mythological figures dear to the poet: Orpheus, Eurydice, the Centaurs...
Between 1957 and 1958, Cocteau painted large coloured frescoes on the walls and ceiling of the Wedding Hall at the Town Hall. Every month, the Heritage Department organizes a visit on the theme of "Menton and Jean Cocteau".
