Kareen Guiock Thuram: from TV to the stage, a career that really swings! With infectious energy, rare authenticity and a charisma that electrifies the audience at every turn.
At 47, Kareen Guiock Thuram has achieved the rare feat of juggling two careers: that of a leading television journalist and that of an accomplished musician.
A familiar face on M6’s 12.45 news programme since 2012, she continues to present the current affairs programme 66 Minutes, whilst having taken the plunge into performing on stage. In April 2023, she released her debut album Nina, a tribute to Nina Simone comprising 11 covers reimagined with sensitivity and personality. Her warm, powerful voice has earned her acclaim from several specialist media outlets as one of the best jazz albums of the year.
What makes her journey even more remarkable is that she did not attend a conservatoire. Her voice was developed through listening, personal practice and performances in jazz clubs — far removed from traditional academic paths.
Since the album’s release, she has performed over fifty concerts across France, in renowned venues such as Le Café de la Danse, Le New Morning and La Cigale. The tour is set to gain even more momentum in 2025 and 2026 with a symphonic version of *Nina*, co-produced with an orchestra conducted by Laurent Goossaert, and dates at prestigious venues such as the Salle Gaveau and the Opéra Bastille.
From the television screen to the stage, Kareen Guiock Thuram charts a path marked by conviction and freedom — proof that a long-suppressed passion can, one day, burst into the open.
