Nigerian guitar hero, icon of the alchemy between blues and African funk, which he himself named Blufunk with his first album Blufunk is Fact, released in 1992, Keziah Jones has marked the history of African music in Europe.
Her songs, an irresistible blend of blues, funk, folk, and soul, are largely influenced by her mentors Jimi Hendrix, Miles Davis, and Fela Kuti.
After a ten-year hiatus from recording since Captain Rugged (2013), Keziah Jones makes her comeback with her first live album, Alive & Kicking, recorded in Lagos and mixed by Russell Elevado (Alicia Keys, D'Angelo). The single, "Mélissa," is a taste of Keziah Jones's soulful turn.
Lineup:
Keziah Jones - lead vocals/guitar
Beans - bass/vocals
Michael Désir - drums/vocals
Amen Viana - guitar/vocals
Sly Rabbath: keyboards
