In keeping with the program of performances by Canadian artist Ingrid Hansen, the Compagnie du Dire-Dire will deliver a staged reading of Kiwi, a contemporary text by Quebec author Daniel Danis.
One is called Kiwi, the other Litchi. These two teenagers live, without an adult by their side, in a society that, to host the Olympic Games, has decided to raze the slums and their inhabitants.

With his simple words, Kiwi confronts us with the social and emotional inequalities of the daily lives of children wandering in a society where liberalism reigns supreme.
Despite the gravity of Kiwi's words, Daniel Danis still sees it as a story of hope: "No matter how dark you are, it's possible to build a home, which is a metaphor for yourself, for the construction of your being."

Daniel Danis's plays are staged all over the world and translated into some fifteen languages.
Daniel Danis's language is unique, raw, and comical, surprising at times and giving the characters a poetic, heroic dimension. Daily life, sometimes sordid, then becomes for Danis a breathless quest for self and love.

"The cold stares at me. Under the covers, I tell myself that if I move my toes again, it'll bite my skin."
