An emblematic work by Antti Lovag, the Maison Bernard is the fruit of a close collaboration between its client and the Hungarian architect. Original and singular, it bears witness to a modern and innovative conception of housing at the end of the 70s.
The unusual Maison Bernard is a fine example of organic architecture. Focused on the needs of its occupants, it blends perfectly with the topography of the site. Imbued with the non-conformist vision of Antti Lovag and Pierre Bernard, it is the culmination of a long process and reflection.
Construction took over 10 years. The entire framework was designed to adhere perfectly to the rocky Esterel slope on which it rests. Then each volume, each opening to the sky or sea, was designed to create suitable living spaces.
Later, a female duo continued the adventure! Isabelle Bernard, the client's daughter, and architect Odile Decq embarked on a lengthy renovation project, giving pride of place to color in keeping with the spirit of the 70s.
