At the entrance to the old medieval village, the Lavoir of Mougins, dating from 1894, has an incomparable cachet.
It was used until the 1970s by the bravest washerwomen. It is unique in that it has always been covered.
It is said that, at that time, the village children would climb up to the blacksmith's shop (opposite the washhouse) to throw small stones onto the tin roof, scaring the washerwomen.
From March to October, it serves for temporary art exhibitions. From December to January, it hosts the Christmas nativity scene, entirely created by the municipal services of the City of Mougins.
