Coby Hurtak was born in Friesland, the Netherlands.
The daughter of an architect and a mother with a passion for textiles and drawing, she soon became interested in the world of art.

This curiosity led her to travel the world to capture the uniqueness of each place.
In 1988, she graduated from the MINERVA Academy of Fine Arts in Groningen (Netherlands).
Three years later, she became Associate Professor of Fine Arts at the same academy.
During this period, she exhibited in Amsterdam, Groningen and at the Singer Museum in Laren as guest of honor.

In love with the Mediterranean and its surrounding nature, colors and light, she moved to the south of France in 2004.
Her work is exhibited in many picturesque villages around the Mediterranean. Today, she is a member of the board of the Peintres et Sculpteurs de Saint Tropez.

Her artistic curiosity drives her to discover new horizons, and she becomes a member of the Taylor Foundation in Paris and the Societa Promotrice Delle Belle Arti in Torino.
In 2025, her work was awarded the Prix Ulisse and the "Il Divin Artista Michelangelo Buonarroti" prize by the "Italia in Arte nel Mondo" Academy in Lecce, Italy.

In her works, she depicts the world through her own vision, combining memories and feelings.
The viewer is drawn into her contemplation through the different layers superimposed in her works.
The play of color and light guides the eye, but it's up to the attentive eye to explore each layer and detail to capture all its secrets.
