Discover a mythical shipwreck on the Var coast!
WRECK HISTORY...
Built in Scotland in 1912, this small cargo ship had several owners before sinking under the Panamanian flag. On a day when the Mistral wind was blowing hard, the ship, loaded with wine, jumped on a surface mine. It soon sank on December 3, 1945, leaving two dead and one missing. The name of the ship was "Sagona", but as the crew and ship's papers were Greek at the time of the sinking, it was nicknamed "The Greek".
On the way to wonder... The wreck sits upright on a sandy bottom. Cut into two pieces, some fifty meters separate the bow from the rest of the boat. You can see everything: the winch, the propeller, the holds filled with barrel debris, the chimney, the mast lying on the port side.

FLORA AND FAUNA:
Flora and fauna have found their sanctuary here. The gangways are invaded by red and two-tone gorgonians, and the entire wreck is alive with the incessant ballet of groupers, barracudas, moray eels and hundreds of dentex.

WE LOVE :
- The wreck
- The red gorgonians
