Founded in 1966, the association's main mission has been to improve the autonomy and mobility of blind and visually impaired people in the region by providing free guide dogs and electronic canes.
With our training centre in Eze at Fort de la Revère and our 2nd centre in Lançon-Provence (13), we hand out around 20 guide dogs free of charge each year to visually impaired people living in south-east France.
At the same time, we train and provide free electronic mobility aids throughout the region, as well as in Auvergne and Rhône-Alpes (electronic walking sticks, Minitact indoor units).
To pursue our missions, the association can count on the support of a large chain of solidarity: volunteers and foster families for our student guide dogs, donors and legatees, as well as service clubs and institutions. The cost of each guide dog is estimated at €25,000 and €5,000 for an electronic cane: with no state subsidy, it is only thanks to donations and legacies that the association can bring autonomy and freedom to those deprived of their sight.
