This ensemble is made up of all the students from the Brass Department, of all levels, and their teachers. It's an opportunity to immerse yourselves once again in the magic of Christmas thanks to the traditional pieces that will be performed.
Under the direction of Arnaud Pairier, professor of orchestral conducting, the Wind Orchestra performs both original pieces written by renowned composers for wind and percussion ensembles, as well as transcriptions of famous film scores, operettas, and jazz standards.
The Conservatory's Grand Trumpet and Percussion Ensemble is directed by Jean-Pierre Gonzalvès, professor of trumpet. Intended for advanced students in the Conservatory's brass and percussion classes, this ensemble, consisting of approximately 25 musicians, performs a wide range of repertoire, including both transcriptions and original pieces written for this instrumentation. The repertoire includes famous film scores, classical pieces, jazz, and contemporary music.
Under the direction of Medhi Virorello, professor of tuba, the Junior Brass Ensemble offers young musicians from the brass and percussion departments their first experience playing in an orchestra. The repertoire includes both original pieces written by major composers of wind music and adaptations of more familiar themes, simplified so that they can be played by students in the first and early second cycles of their studies.
