The Vens lakes are made up of a series of five main lakes located in the Haute Tinée and the Mercantour National Park.
The largest, overlooked by the Vens refuge, has a depth of 31 m.
The two access points are only by hiking from the bottom of the Vens valley (Vens car park) or via the hamlet of Pra (Circuit de Tortisse). It is one of the major sites of the Mercantour National Park with the discovery of the lakes which spread their emerald-colored waters between 2,200 and 2,400 m from July to November.
