The Massena family home, built in 1722. To mark the bicentenary of his birth, a large plaque with his bust and coat of arms in bas-relief has been affixed to the façade.
Born on 6 May 1758 in Nice, he spent his childhood in Levens. A great soldier, he was nicknamed ‘the darling of victory’ by Napoleon 1st. Duke of Rivoli, Prince of Essling, Marshal of France, he died in Paris on 4 April 1817.
