The Printemps des Arts de Monte-Carlo is a music festival that takes place over 4 weekends from March to April, in various venues in and around the Principality.
Founded in 1970 at the instigation of Princess Grace of Monaco, Printemps des Arts has been chaired since 1984 by H.R.H. The Princess of Hanover, and its artistic director since May 2021 has been composer and conductor Bruno Mantovani.
Printemps des Arts does not focus on a particular instrument, repertoire, era, country or genre. On the contrary, it is the diversity of the works and styles presented that makes its identity, dialogue being what best defines this cultural event in the Principality: dialogue between pieces composed several centuries apart, between learned music and improvised music or oral tradition, between music and other forms of expression (literature, cinema, plastic arts and even gastronomy), between the public and the artists during the after-concerts. Printemps des Arts gives audiences the chance to take a fresh look at the history of music, exploring the links between the great composers and giving us a better understanding of the mysteries of inspiration, thanks in particular to the conferences and round tables (known as "before").
