This two-thousand-year-old olive tree ( around 2200 years old) has been classified as a Remarkable Tree of France since January 2016. Located on the road to Menton, near the medieval village.
In the 1800s, the ungrateful terroir and rudimentary farming techniques allowed only small farms to produce olive oil, wine, lemons, carobs and a very small quantity of wheat, barley and broad beans. The thousand-year-old olive tree also bears witness to the history of this species of fruit tree in the Oleaceae family.
