Located at the top of the Castle Hill, the park is a huge green maze overlooking the city of Nice, thus offering a panoramic view over the entire Baie des Anges.
It was in the 3rd century BC that the Greek settlers of Massalia
founded Nikaia. The trading post installed on the hill overlooking the bay allowed
to trade with the Ligurians who lived in the region. It was around this settlement, a veritable citadel, that the city developed before being razed by order of Louis XIV, who feared the resistance of the people of Nice.
In 1882, the development of the hill was entrusted to the city, which made it a place for public walks. Untouched since 1920, the park of the castle will know a new youth.
