Hyperadobe is a technique designed to build earthen walls and thus create shelters, houses, etc., at low cost, by taking the earth found on site and filling it into potato sacks that are compacted using a lady and a sledgehammer. The extension to our house is entirely designed using this technique. We did it with the help of our workawayers, as well as participative building sites. Once plastered, these walls have an organic finish that is unanimously appreciated in terms of aesthetics, robustness, thermal and sound insulation, etc.
