A Japanese short story based on a novel by Yoko Ogawa.
Extracted from the collection "Sleep Scenes in the Palm of the Hand".

The narrator has sold her shop and is about to retire when she has a bicycle accident. With the insurance money, she does something completely irrational, something she can't explain.

Passing by the Théâtre Impérial, she buys 79 tickets to see all the performances of the musical Les Misérables, running for just over two months. She had never been to a theater before: a fascinating world opens up to her.

Especially since she meets a rather strange young woman who lives there.

A short story with a mysterious and poetic charm, which speaks to us of the magic of live performance and of ghosts that continue to haunt us long after they have disappeared... with the light.
