The Laponche family are fourth-generation apiarists who have successfully retained, and still adopt, traditional techniques. Le Rucher is located at the foot of the Gorges du Blavet, an area with an abundance of flora, producing rich, flavourful honey.

Beekeeping is a family affair at Domaine de la Bouverie. Since 1925, 4 generations of the Laponche family have succeeded one another from father to son. This family of enthusiasts has left its mark on French beekeeping over the years: creation of the Varoise hive, official supplier of lavender honey to the 1968 Grenoble Olympic Games, etc.
Since 1973, François Laponche has been managing the 1 million bees in the hive. From a lavender field to a chestnut forest, the beekeeper practices the great transhumance. His wish: to perpetuate the transhumance in the traditional harvesting places of the family (Provençal scrubland, Valensole plateau, alpine valleys).
A variety of honeys, naturally centrifuged and bottled in the workshops of the Bouverie apiary.
Brown and bitter for chestnut honey, golden and creamy for lavender, clear and sweet for acacia, etc. and so many other specialities can be tasted at this beekeeper's.
