With this new project, Jef Roques takes us on a journey through the music that shaped his youth.
After many years playing jazz with bebop influences, this accomplished musician has turned his attention to the music of the Corsican guitarists who captivated him. To recreate this atmosphere, he now surrounds himself with top-notch partners such as Fred Lacroix on double bass and Nico Saibene on guitar, offering a varied program ranging from the repertoire of Django Reinhardt to that of singer Charles Rocchi, including a few waltzes by Paolo Quilici.
All this with a single motto: Let's Swing!

Five passionate artists, all from the island, boldly blend Corsican traditions with rhythms from elsewhere. Navigating freely between Mediterranean styles and influences, EPPÒ offers vibrant, festive music, imbued with poetry and humor, sung in the Corsican language. Their stage presence and ability to unite an eclectic audience make them one of the most endearing and authentic groups on the contemporary Corsican scene. Their music is a meeting ground for diverse influences. Traditional Corsican instruments mingle with modern sounds and rhythms from elsewhere. Influences cross the Mediterranean and are tinged with folk, rock, and world music. The lyrics, sung in Corsican, blend poetry, humor, and a tender perspective on the small things in life as well as on universal emotions.
