As the gateway to the medieval village, Rue de France takes you on a journey to discover the traces of the past and feel the special atmosphere of this village, which has kept the same physiognomy over the centuries. The street follows the line of the medieval main street.
It follows the medieval layout of the town's main street, which became a one-way street running north-south in the 17th c. due to the influx of muleteers and merchants on the "Route Royale". Along this axis are lintels carved with sentences or coats of arms (the three lilies of the Kingdom of France, the cross of the House of Savoy, the crowned two-headed eagle of the Counts Lascaris), numbers: 1, 19, 75, 79, 96, 101, 103, 183.
