In the heart of Old Nice, the Francis Gag Theatre offers a diverse program, from repertoire pieces to contemporary creations. It opens its venue to theatrical, musical, and choreographic creations, serving both creators and the public.
The Francis-gag Theater's programming showcases the creations of the region's professional performing arts companies as well as headliners. Support for local creation was strengthened in 2016 thanks to the Pôle Nice Théâtre Arts Vivants, which allows these companies to benefit from the Jorgi Tasso Hall and the Rey-Serruriers Block, two work and rehearsal spaces dedicated to long-term residencies.

The TFG has all the necessary stage and technical equipment for producing shows and hosting troupes. It features a large, welcoming and cozy 259-seat auditorium, a 98 m² stage, and a small, intimate 28-seat auditorium for smaller-scale performances.

The municipal theater of Vieux-Nice has been named after Francis Gag since 1989. Francis Gagliolo (1900-1988) was a French actor, author, poet, writer, and humanist, born in Nice.
He gave his reputation to the Niçois language and theater. A highly popular figure with multiple talents, his work portrayed the people of Nice, who were so dear to him, with verve, irony, and affection. He founded the Francis Gag Theatre troupe in 1936 and disseminated the Niçois language through the tradition of popular theater.
