Franck Amsallem celebrates here his grand return to the Trio format, and to the celebration of cover tunes, those pieces composed by others.

What could be more difficult than leaving one's own mark on a repertoire so thoroughly explored by the greats? By recording in the USA and then performing in France with equally essential musicians—Philippe Brassoud, Alain Asplanato, and Franck Amsallem, a pianist originally from Nice—he establishes himself with his thirteenth album under his own name as a key figure in contemporary French jazz.
