A moment of heritage, nature and relaxation not to be missed.
The Tympanum of Pesquiers is a rare hydraulic structure located in the heart of the Pesquiers salt marsh. It was used to push water from the sea into the various basins of the saltworks. Its design was perfectly adapted to the constraints of the site. These complex, steam-driven structures were replaced by electric pumps in the 20th century. The Tympanum des Pesquiers is the last French representative of this saltworks heritage. Today, the Tympanum complex is an interpretation center for the history of Hyères' salt industry.
