On the occasion of the Finnish publication of The Winter Warriors, the Finnish association of the Côte d'Azur, Riveran suomi-seuran, and the Libraries of the City of Nice welcome Olivier Norek and his translator, Susanna Tuomi-Giddings.
In November 1939, the Soviet Union invaded Finland, triggering the Winter War. In the bitter cold, the Finns resisted with courage and tenacity, driven by their resilient spirit, Sisu. The novel follows the life of Simo Häyhä, a humble peasant who became a legendary sniper, and recounts this forgotten war with dramatic and human intensity.
