In an apartment decorated in a stale mood, Pierre, a fifty-something writer, struggles with the crushing shadow of his father (a famous author), a morbid suspicion of his partner Marie, and a left hand that seems to want to write better than he does. The arrival of Dominique, a half-brother in a crisis of virility, and Charlotte, a bitter wife in search of a child, shatters appearances and reveals the flaws in each.
