Built at the end of the 19th century, it is representative of the villas of that period, consisting of a small garden on the seafront and a service courtyard at the back.
In 1935, the building became home to the Mediterranean University Center, a center for meetings on the problems of the Mare Nostrum countries. On this occasion, the villa was redecorated in art deco style by the Nice architect Roger Séassal, Grand Prix de Rome, and an auditorium was built at the back on the site of the common rooms.
