On the heights of Cap Martin, high above the waves of the Mediterranean, nestles the medieval village of Roquebrune. With its maze of picturesque lanes and 1,000-year-old castle, Roquebrune promises authenticity and character.
A veritable jewel of the Côte d'Azur, nestled between Menton and the Principality of Monaco, the medieval village of Roquebrune is a unique site offering an unbeatable view of the Mediterranean and its wild beaches.

At the summit, the castle, built in the 10th century, recalls its original function as a keep and is one of the finest examples of Carolingian architecture in France. Once the property of the Grimaldis, it was annexed to France in 1861, before William Ingram, who owned the property, ceded it to the commune in 1921. Today, the site is listed as a Monument Historique and is open to the public.

Situated in the heart of the village, the parish church of Sainte-Marguerite is an ancient 13th-century chapel where you can admire a copy of Michelangelo's "Last Judgment", 54 times smaller than the original in the Sistine Chapel.
