Monaco: an international spot in the heart of the Mediterranean

Surprising architecture and a preserved art of living, a flourishing economy and an exceptional microclimate: the Principality of Monaco is a privileged melting pot of Mediterranean and international cultures, which makes every experience unique.

A city with an incredible heritage

Nestled in the heart of Europe, the Principality of Monaco is an emblematic city-state that combines historic heritage, buildings with avant-garde architecture and breath-taking panoramic views.

With a rich secular past, the destination is brimming with historic monuments, such as the Oceanographic Museum on the side of the cliff, the neo-classical style Princely Palace and the Monte-Carlo Casino and the Belle Epoque villas that recall the birth of tourism in the Principality at the end of the 19th century.

A preserved art of living will give you a complete change of scene and a whole host of unique locations that, like the Oceanographic Museum or the Casino Atrium, can host your professional event.

A daring and international economy

Over time, Monaco has been able to develop a daring economy that generates innovative ideas. Cutting edge industries, such as medical, sustainable development and new technologies have been added to a veritable know-how in the tertiary sector. Recognized expertise that will be able to enrich your event and contribute to its success.

Its multicultural population comprises almost 140 nationalities, housed in a region measuring 2 km², where everything can be explored on foot and where soft mobility is encouraged.

Its accessibility by car, train, boat, plane (111 direct flights from the Nice Côte d’Azur Airport) and even by helicopter places Monaco as a major, international-level business tourism destination.

Iconic seminar locations

Monaco offers event professionals a wide choice of meeting places.

The Grimaldi Forum and its 35,000 m² of multipurpose spaces host all types of professional events for up to 3,000 people. At the beginning of 2025, it will benefit from a 50% increase in its exhibition spaces.

Furthermore, 6,000 m² of interior spaces and 2,000 m² of additional outdoor spaces will enrich the conference centre’s offer.

The Grimaldi Forum has been fully committed to the development of sustainable events since its creation in 2000 and it was awarded its first ISO 14000 certification as of 2008.

The One Monte-Carlo is located in the heart of the Monte Carlo district, on Place du Casino. With a surface area of 1,445 m², it offers 9 multipurpose rooms, including the Arts Rooms with Art Deco architecture, all equipped with an electronic light and ambient temperature control system.

And lastly, the Sea Club, the conference centre integrated into the Meridien Beach Plaza, offers 16 modulable spaces spread across almost 3,000 m² and which can host events for up to 600 people.

A legendary hotel offer

With a total capacity of 2,500 rooms over 13 hotels, the Principality of Monaco offers each visitor an experience in which personalized service and a quality reception take pride of place.

To date, nearly 82% of the rooms in the Principality are certified, thus guaranteeing solutions and equipment to effectively reduce their ecological impact.

Each establishment offers a unique setting, you just have to choose whether to provide your delegates with accommodation in a historic Palace, a Resort beside the Mediterranean or even an intimate boutique hotel.

Everyone will experience moments during their stay in Monaco that can’t be found anywhere else.

Sustainable development: the carbon neutrality goal

Prince Albert II committed the Principality to reducing its greenhouse gas emissions by 55% by 2030, compared to 1990. The goal is to reach carbon neutrality by 2050.

Its strong environmental policy is thus conducted around several major lines:

  • preserving the natural heritage,
  • implementing a climate energy plan,
  • developing soft mobility, in particular with MonaBike, a fleet of electrically-assisted bicycles
  • Mobee, a car sharing service based on the free-floating principle, allowing for geolocating the closest available vehicle,
  • the bus, more than 50% of the network for which already comprises 100%-electric vehicles,
  • the boat-bus, which is solar powered.

Today, the Tourism and Conference Directorate relies on the expertise of its CSR unit to assist organizers in setting up responsible events.

To do this, they are offered several tools, such as a calculator allowing them to estimate the carbon footprint of their event and coming soon; a guide for organizers wanting to create more responsible events.
