THE “ROUTES DES SAVEURS”:

DISCOVER THE WINE ESTATES OF THE CÔTE D’AZUR

On the Côte d’Azur, the vineyards are spread over a variety of sunny lands which lend the grapes a palette of unexpected flavours. The “Routes des Saveurs” (Flavour Routes) take us on a taste journey through the fascinating world of wine, where each grape variety tells a unique story and each tasting awakens the senses.

THE CÔTE D’AZUR, LAND OF VINES

Wine: The juice of the vine

Between sea and mountains, the Côte d’Azur offers a unique land that’s perfect for growing vines. Chardonnay, Syrah, Rolle, Braquet Fille Noire…

There are so many grape varieties on these sunny slopes, which enjoy an ideal microclimate for ripening the grapes. This natural, protected setting can’t help but offer up unique aromas and flavours that captivate wine lovers around the world.

The Côte d’Azur is a true wine paradise, where the centuries-old tradition of viticulture meets the elegance and refinement so specific to this iconic destination.

DISCOVER SINGULAR WINES WHICH HAVE WON SO MANY AWARDS

In the heart of the Estérel maquis or the hills of Saint-Jeannet, passing through the mountainous cirques of Villars sur Var, each grape variety gives rise to wines imbued with character and complexity, with a search for the natural expression of the grapes.

Purple, amber, ruby… The various colours of these exceptional wines invite us to savour the very essence of this land bathed in sun, where the vineyards are transformed into a true representation of the Mediterranean art of living.

As for Nice, the pearl of the Côte d’Azur, it’s undeniably an essential destination for wine lovers looking for taste discoveries.

Awarded gold medals at the Concours Général Agricole (General Agricultural Competition) at the Salon International de l’Agriculture in Paris, Bellet wines stand out as wines of incomparable quality.

THE BELLET VINEYARD, ONE OF THE OLDEST VINEYARDS IN FRANCE

Renowned for its exceptional production and part of one of the oldest vineyards in France, the Bellet vineyard is also one of the oldest “Appellations d’Origine Contrôlée” (protected designations of origin) since 1941.

Bellet wine is known worldwide and occupies an important place on the very best tables because it enjoys unique growing conditions, characterised by stony soils, sunny weather and the influence of the Mediterranean Sea.

Château de Bellet, Domaine Saint Jean, Collet de Bovis, Clos Saint Vincent, Domaine de Vinceline, Domaine de la Source and Domaine Via Julia Augusta are among the prestigious wine estates which open their doors to us on the Routes des Saveurs, offering unforgettable tastings and tours that reveal the secrets of local heritage.

PRODUCERS WITH OUTSTANDING KNOW-HOW

Dotted with family farms, the hills of Bellet contain around fifteen wine growers, each more passionate about their work than the last.

As for Clos Saint-Joseph, a small family vineyard in Villars sur Var, it stands out as the only estate in the Alpes-Maritimes to enjoy the Côtes de Provence appellation.

Near Tourrettes-sur-Loup, at Domaine des Claus, it’s an organic, biodynamic vineyard that follows nature’s patterns.

In Saint-Jeannet, at Domaine des Hautes Collines, a different type of know-how comes to light, that of Georges Rasse. He perfects his vintages by exposing them to the sun in wine carboys, which gives them truly distinct aromas, subtly combining notes of spices and nuts.

Finally, on Saint-Honorat Island, the monks have continued a wine-growing tradition that dates back to the 5th century. These men of faith have managed to combine spirituality and know-how, devoting part of their lives to growing vines in the Lérins Abbey Estate. On the fertile lands of this island nestled between sky and sea, the monks have devotedly cultivated grape varieties such as Clairette, Syrah and Mourvèdre, producing wines that reflect the exceptional growing conditions of this haven of peace off the Riviera coast.

DISCOVER THE BELLET VINEYARDS BY ELECTRIC BIKE

Setting off from Nice, the Promenade des Anglais and its cycle path stretch out in front of us, before climbing up to Bellet Hill along a small road. After turning towards Château de Crémat, the journey takes us past one of the most beautiful estates in the Bellet vineyards.

Once there, you can visit the château, its apartments, Roman cellars and winery. The experience includes a few tastings of local organic wines, allowing us to enjoy the moment overlooking a magnificent panorama of the Mediterranean Sea.
