From the valleys of the hinterland down to the coast, nine breweries from the region invite you to explore the exquisite aromas of craft beers to intoxicate your taste buds using the subtle flavours of local ingredients.

FROM THE COAST TO THE PEAKS OF THE MERCANTOUR MOUNTAINS

Beer: The brewers’ treasure

The Routes des Saveurs invite us on a journey along the sparkling shores of the Riviera and through the green mountains of the hinterland to discover their craft breweries. These defenders of brewing traditions open their doors so we can glimpse the secrets of beer making and savour these delicious brews inspired by the local lands.

Leaving Mouans-Sartoux, you can taste* certified organic beers from À la Fut, heading on to the La Mentounasc brewery, which proudly brews IGP Menton lemons, the sun-filled treasures of the Côte d’Azur.

Along the way, each brewery reveals its secrets. In Antibes, Nice, St-Martin-Vésubie, Peille and Sospel, master brewers reveal the alchemy between ingredients chosen with passion and a love for local know-how.

To end your journey, head to Isola and Brasserie du Kamous to delight in its hoppy flavours, brewed with pure mountain water.

A BEER FROM NICE THAT’S KNOWN AROUND THE WORLD

To the west of Nice, Blue Coast has been building its brewing legend since 2017, forging an intimate link with its local produce.

Created by real enthusiasts who wanted to capture the very essence of the Mediterranean, the different nectars concocted by master brewer Robert Bush have won over fans of craft beers internationally.

There are around a dozen different characters, such as racing drivers Daniel Ricciardo and Jenson Button, who play the role of ambassadors and carry the flavours of the Côte d’Azur to more distant horizons.

Blue Coast beers embody the perfect combination of tradition and excellence, spreading the sparkle of the ten medals won at the 2022 World Beer Awards like so many jewels from our region.

INNOVATION AS OUR KEYWORD

In the breweries of the Côte d’Azur, innovation is a shared value that guides craft brewers in unexpected directions.

And so, these passionate craftsmen and women constantly push the limits of tradition using new brewing technologies.

Every brewery becomes a laboratory of creativity, thanks to the bold use of regional ingredients.

The scent of sun-drenched citrus fruit rubs shoulders with wild Mediterranean plants to create exceptional brews.

The master brewers of the Côte d’Azur stand out for their avant-garde approach to offer an unforgettable sensory experience and awaken our senses to a new dimension of pleasure.

AWARD-WINNING ELIXIRS AT THE CONCOURS GÉNÉRAL AGRICOLE DE PARIS

At the Concours Général Agricole de Paris 2023 (Paris General Agricultural Competition), brewers from the Alpes-Maritimes stood out for their excellence.

The Blue Coast Brewing Company won a silver medal in the “white beer and wheat beer” category, as well as 3 bronze medals for its fruit beer, its “flower and/or plant beer” offering, as well as its version of “beer produced by adding alcoholic beverages”.

Mentounasc also won a bronze medal in the “citrus beer” category.

These distinctions underline the quality and originality of the region’s brewing products, thus confirming its place among the best producers on French soil.

A COMPETITION DEDICATED TO AMATEUR BREWERS

Every year, the association of Brasseries Indépendantes Azuréennes et Maralpines (BIAM – Independent Côte d’Azur and Alpes-Maritimes Breweries) organises a competition offering budding brewers a dazzling stage to show off their talents and delight our palates with their products.

This competition, which aims to find the best amateur brewer in the Alpes-Maritimes, encourages participants to draw their inspiration from the taste treasures of the Côte d’Azur, with the unique opportunity of ordering their ingredients from local craft breweries.

A great way to stimulate creativity and invite fans to express their love for beer and local products!
